This is similar to last year’s ‘Green’ map of Auckland, which showed vegetation points from LiDAR.

The LiDAR available for Christchurch is not fully classified, so this year’s map is instead a map of Christchurch City Council’s ‘trees’ dataset.

Darker points are fruit trees, as shown on this interactive map.
